This is a wonderful book describing the baskets of Southern Africa and covering materials used.
It is full of stories and African proverbs head every chapter but it is not a ‘how to’ book, more just for the pleasure of learning about this rich area of basketry

It’s a very nice book that is so very detailed about African basketry and its history based on the coiling method. It features the prominent Ukhamba weavers of South Africa with their mode of weaving and the materials including the preparation and dying.
