Near the coastal town of Faxe Ladeplads in Zealand, Annette Stougaard (b. 1957-) practices her willow skills and creates works at her home at Bakkehuset on the Danish countryside.
Annette has been an active willow maker since 1999 and has participated in several courses nationally as well as internationally. In 2005 she started her own field from where she harvests willow to use herself, which she prepares at home but she also sells to other weavers.
Besides working with willow, Annette also creates works in other materials including bark, grasses and leaves – but willow is always the main material from where she spreads in to other areas and touches on other materials.
